Student Budget

Link to the estimated Cost of Attendance and note, fees and costs are subject to change without notice. The budget displayed reflect costs over an academic year. An "academic year" is comprised of three quarters: fall, winter, and spring. Undergraduate full-time average for an international student is 45 units per academic year. Graduate full-time average is 36 units per academic year.

Be advised that as part of the enrollment process, additional documents are required for the issuance of an I-20. Please see the International Center website for more information. Financial status is an important factor in determining your eligibility for enrollment. Because Cal Poly does not provide financial aid or scholarships to international undergraduate students, and only on a limited basis to international graduate students, it is vital that international students can show the ability to (1) pay their educational expenses or (2) have their expenses paid for by a sponsor.

Applicants should not count on a job to offset any of the expenses outlined in the Cost of Attendance. Work opportunities in San Luis Obispo are limited and subject to entrance visa regulation.

*Please note that your financial requirement will increase $5,000 for a spouse and $3,000 per dependent.
